Gerani is a lovely village for mountain biking, trekking and taking long strolls by the beach or among the olive trees and orange groves, inlands. At the same time the village is a good base from which to explore the western part of Crete by car and visit the spectacular beaches and gorges, the steep mountains and villages and the Minoan, Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman monuments of past island rulers.
